Article 2 – The Real Truth About Learning Blues Guitar
By Sparksy
I don’t want to get into trouble with some of the guitarists who want you to believe that you have to be super talented to play blues but I'm going to let you in to a few secrets.

Secret number 1 – most blues guitarists are self taught. Oh, I know you don’t believe that, but it’s true. The reason they’re self taught is because formal training is boring as all heck. Trust me, I know. The last thing you want to do is sit down with some teacher learning scales and doing the Mel Bay Method. Don’t ask! It’s a course that all beginning guitarists learned from back in the stone ages. It’s outdated, antiquated and BORING.

Secret number 2 – Blues is not that hard. It’s pretty much all about a formula. Once you learn the formula, you can play blues in just about any key. It all revolves around three chords…the tonic, the dominant and ______continued.

Secret number 3 – All that fast playing you hear? It’s all fingering. Once you learn the fingering, and see how easy it is, you’ll be playing blues riffs with the best of them. I have to warn you about one thing though. Once you realize how easy this is, you’re going to be a little bit disappointed by some of your favorite guitarists when you see that what they’re doing isn’t so special. But that’s the price of learning the secret.

In my signature, you’ll find a review of a great online product that will teach you all you’ll need to know about blues guitar. And then you can play just like the pros…with just a little practice.
